While Coronavirus has disrupted our daily lives, there are still ways that you and your children can enjoy some of the simpler things in life like reading a good book. There are many summer reading programs your children can participate in that come with rewards!

Harris County Public Library

Enroll June 1 and earn points by reading, doing activities, and writing reviews. Be sure to visit HCPL's Facebook page (@harriscountypl) for a wide variety of fun, educational entertainment for all ages entirely online. For more information, click here. The John P. McGovern Summer Reading Program

Imagine Your Story with the Houston Public Library! Receive a free book just for registering. Summer Reading Program registration opens May 1, 2020. Earn more free books and pins by reaching reading goals. For more information, click here

4 Books for #4 Summer Reading Challenge

Houston Texans Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson has launched a summer reading program in partnership with Ashley HomeStore called the "4 Books for #4 Summer Reading Challenge". Watson is encouraging Houston-area children ages 5 to 18 to read four books this summer for the opportunity to meet him and win a $5,000 Ashley HomeStore room makeover for their families. To register and obtain more information about the summer reading challenge, text READ4 to 797979. H‑E‑Buddy Summer Reading Club

H‑E‑Buddy is ready for summer fun and summer jamming, so it's time to kick off our H‑E‑Buddy Summer Reading Club. All you have to do is read ten books and record them on your reading log. Each time you log a book, have an adult initial by the title so you get credit for reading. Once the log is complete, mail the form and you'll be rewarded with a special t‑shirt. You have until October 1 to get in ten good reads. For more information, click here

Chuck E. Cheese Reading Rewards 2020

Kids will have a great time working towards success while earning Chuck E. Cheese rewards along the way. Simply track progress on our printable incentive charts by marking the days off with a pen or sticker as your kids accomplish their goals, then bring in a completed calendar or behavior chart to Chuck E. Cheese and receive 10 free play points or tokens as a reward. For more information, click here.

Scholastic Summer Read-a-Palooza

This free program unites communities in a nationwide campaign that celebrates reading for fun while improving access to books during the summer. For more information, click here

Collaborative Summer Library Program

CSLP works to develop an interest in reading and library use. This includes the development and implementation of summer reading programs used nationwide, public service announcements, and other activities that promote reading and library use. For more information, click here

Barnes and Noble's Summer Reading Program

This summer, earn one free book through the Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Program for kids in grades 1–6. For more information, click here
