Dear NCE Families,
As we approach the final stretch of the 2024–2025 school year, we are filled with excitement, pride, and a deep sense of gratitude. It’s hard to believe how quickly the year has flown by, and now we’re entering one of the most joyful seasons—celebrating all that our students have accomplished! Whether it’s academic gains, social growth, or personal breakthroughs, we are committed to recognizing every step forward, no matter how small.
Our students have worked incredibly hard throughout the year, especially during recent testing periods. With MAP exams coming up, we’re encouraging all students to finish strong and give their best effort. This is their chance to show just how much they’ve learned and how far they’ve come. These assessments help us understand their progress and plan effectively for their continued success.
Now more than ever, it is critical that students are present at school every day. Daily attendance ensures they don’t miss out on key instruction, celebrations, and final opportunities to demonstrate their learning. Being here and being engaged will help set them up for a strong finish and a confident transition into the summer and beyond.
Front office reminders:
- Front office closes EVERYDAY from 2:45pm - 3:15pm to get ready for dismissal. Getting 850 children safely home requires every staff member and bus riders start coming down at 2:45.
- Early pick-up finishes at 2:15pm. No students will be released after that time. This ensures the front office team can prepare for dismissal.
- Pick up for car rider tags (dark blue tags) will resume at the front office at 3:45pm. If you lost/misplaced your car tag, you can order a set at the front for $3 and get back in the car line for faster pick up. This ensures dismissal runs smoothly and we limit the number of cars parking in our SMALL lot. We need to limit the number of people walking through traffic. Purple and cream tags are the only families that can pick up before 3:45.
- Physical IDs are REQUIRED to pick up students from the front office. We will not take pictures or copies, NO EXCEPTIONS. We love your children and are committed to making sure they go home with the right people.
- If your student is tardy (after 7:45am) you MUST find a parking spot and walk your student to the front office to sign them in. NO EXCEPTIONS. We have to stop the car rider line at 7:45 and have tardy families come through the front office so that we can supervise all the kids.
- Classroom snacks, forgotten lunch bags... must be dropped at the front office BEFORE 9:30am. This is the only time we can have staff deliver items to classes.
- Birthdays are celebrated on FRIDAYS only. You can bring store-bought cupcakes, juices, goodie bags, snack bags. Everything MUST be delivered to the front office BEFORE 9:30am, unfortunately we will not receive items after that time. With 850 Sparks we have to have clear procedures for birthdays and delivering items.
Dear Sparks Families,
Please be sure to review your child’s backpack/folder for a medication pick-up notice. I will be sending these notice home in the following weeks. Please arrange to pick up your child’s medication on the last couple days of school: May 28 and May 29, 2025. I have also attached new health forms for next school year to be completed during the summer.
Please feel free to reach out to me for any forms you may need.
Have a safe and fun summer break!
Sincerely,
Nida Ahmad, RN
