As STAAR testing approaches, YES Prep is taking steps to ensure all students have the best opportunity to succeed. That includes designating closed campus days to limit distractions and maintain a secure testing environment.
We know your student’s success is your priority—and it’s ours too. Here’s what you need to know and how you can help.
What Is a Closed Campus Day?
On STAAR testing days:
-
Visitors are not allowed on campus, including for lunch or classroom visits.
-
Food and item drop-offs will not be accepted.
-
Early student pickup is only allowed in emergencies. Picking up a student during testing may disrupt their test and require retesting.
-
Students who arrive late may need to wait or test on a makeup day, depending on the campus testing schedule.
These policies support a focused, uninterrupted testing environment for all students.

What About Cell Phones and other technology?
To ensure testing security:
-
We recommend students leave their phones and smart watches at home on testing days.
-
If students bring a phone, they must power it off and turn it in to designated school staff before the test begins.
-
Phones will be returned after all testing is complete for the day.
-
Accessing a phone or smart watch during testing may result in the test being invalidated per state policy.
How Families Can Support:
-
Avoid early pickup and late arrivals on testing days.
-
Make sure your student gets a full night’s sleep.
-
Eat a healthy breakfast at home or on campus.
-
Encourage your student—positivity goes a long way!
We understand emergencies happen and will always support families as needed. Thank you for helping us create a smooth testing experience for all students.
