Hello SPARKS Families,

It’s hard to believe that 2022 is almost over! 4 months ago, our SPARKS arrived on campus on the first day of school, excited to meet their teachers and make new friends. During these last few months our SPARKS have learned so much and had some fun along the way: we celebrated 4th-grade students who received Meets and Masters on their STAAR test, had our 1st Annual Trunk or Treat, Kindergarten students attended their 1st field trip, and our SPARKS hopped on the Polar Express before going on break! We’ve had many opportunities for families to visit our campus and are excited to plan more events for the 2nd semester.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for entrusting us with your children every day! On behalf of the NCE staff, we hope you enjoy this holiday season with your loved ones. See you in 2023!

Best,

Diana Saavedra

Friendly Reminders for when students return to school:

  • Please submit any updated immunization records or health care plans.
  • Please ensure your child brings a water bottle to school every day to stay hydrated.
  • Please send a spare change of clothes with your child to use in case there is an accident/spill.
  • If your child needs any medication during school hours, please reach out to the school nurse for further information.

Here are a few simple tips that may help your children avoid nosebleeds:

  • Keep your child's nails short to prevent injuries from nose-picking.
  • Keep the inside of your child's nose moist with saline (saltwater) nasal spray or gel, or dab petroleum jelly or antibiotic ointment gently around the opening of the nostrils.
  • Run a cool-mist humidifier (or vaporizer) in bedrooms if the air in your home is dry. Keep the machine clean to prevent mildew buildup.
  • Make sure your kids wear protective athletic equipment during sports or other activities that could cause a nose injury.

Sincerely,

Nida Ahmad, RN
